The field of myofunctional therapy has grown exponentially since it's inception over 100 years ago. Today there are many courses that help guide dental hygienists on the path to becoming a myofunctional therapist. While the IAAH does not support any one introductory course, we do believe in informed decision making. Here is a list of available courses you might consider on your journey.

An all-virtual course that combines organized self-paced learning with live online webinars.
The course encompasses core elements of orofacial myofunctional disorders, including history, research, dental, speech, orofacial myofunctional interdisciplinary perspectives, anatomy/physiology, evaluation, and ethical therapeutic approaches. These concepts are taught using a variety of methodologies, including pre-recorded and live Zoom or in-person lectures, videos, demonstrations of procedures, case studies, and observation of patient videos.
