Karese Laguerre
President
Karese, like many parents, suffered in silence while her children struggled with the symptoms of undiagnosed sleep and breathing issues. One visit to a pediatric dentist changed the trajectory of their lives. Already a Registered Dental Hygienist (RDH), Karese trained with Sandra Holtzman, Lois Laynee, and Sarah Hornsby to establish her orofacial myology knowledge. With this initial training and numerous others, in a few short years, she has not only resolved all her children's issues, but helped hundreds of patients, children, and adults alike discover how great life can be functioning on full.
Her private practice, The Myo Spot, is now a leader in the quest for myofunctional therapy awareness and public education. Her latest published book, "Accomplished", delves into how to sleep better, eliminate burnout, and execute goals. Karese's mission is to transform and positively impact as many households as possible through dynamic breath, brain, and body work.

Tara spent over two decades as a dedicated dental hygienist. While deeply committed to dental hygiene, Tara discovered a newfound passion for myofunctional therapy. This journey began when she sought assistance for her two daughters, both grappling with common ailments that,
unfortunately, were overlooked by traditional medicine or dismissed as something they would outgrow. She would soon learn that these ailments her daughters were suffering from were the results of myofunctional dysfunctions.
Realizing that her daughter's ailments were linked to myofunctional dysfunctions, Tara immersed herself in the world of myofunctional therapy. Motivated by a desire for holistic solutions, she pursued education under the guidance of Sandra Holtzman, Sarah Hornsby, and Neo-Health Services associates. In 2019, Tara embarked on her practice journey, culminating in the establishment of Myology in 2020.
As a dedicated learner, Tara remains active in her professional community (dental and myofunctional therapy), becoming a member and later a board member of the IAAH. She is also a member of AAPMD, AAOSH, Airway Circle, and a Certified Buteyko Breathing Instructor. Through continuous education and a commitment to myofunctional therapy, Tara continues to make a meaningful difference in the lives of her patients and family.
When she's not enriching her knowledge or serving her patients, Tara cherishes moments with her husband, Matt, and their two daughters, Aidyn and Kenzie. Together, they enjoy traveling, watching movies, playing with their three dogs, and spending quality time as a family.

Elizabeth Dooher-Anthony
Public Relations
Beth has recently retired from clinical dental hygiene after practicing for over 35 years. She loved her work, which took her from affluent suburban perio practices to urban Medicaid practices. She also worked in nursing homes, which showed her the dire oral conditions of residents in skilled nursing facilities across the board. She spent her own money to buy supplies for in-home care for relatives of patients who were home bound.
She began her Orofacial Myofunctional journey in 2018 in Chicago with AOMT. She then took Sandra Coulson’s online course. She began to “pound the pavement” in Rochester, NY, to spread the word to the dental community on the benefits of OMT. She took a course in hands-on therapy from Walt Fritz, PT, who instructs internationally in Voice and Swallowing Therapy. Her training as a Reiki practitioner helped her provide her patients with a soothing touch as well as training the tongue what to do. She found Shirley Gutkowski, founder of PrimalAir, LLC, in 2019. She has been seeing patients online since the inception of the practice. She is enjoying passing on knowledge to new therapists as they join. PrimalAir, LLC, is a leader in telehealth therapy for OMT.
Beth’s other passion for over 20 years has been dental trauma. She created
“Serdentity” in 2006 to get information on dental fear to professionals. She believes challenging patient behaviors are based in fear. Once she understood the airway, all her other research made sense. She has given her talk “Roots of Dental Trauma” to dental groups online and at several conferences.
She has a BA in English prior to her dental hygiene education. She has made use of her writing skills by publishing articles in RDH magazine and the “Serdentity” Book. She is also a singer and actress, which makes her presentations entertaining as well as educational.

Amy Rondoni
Chairwoman
Amy has been practicing dental hygiene for 25 years. When her brother was diagnosed with severe obstructive sleep apnea in 2016, she asked “Why? Why do you have OSA?”

When the doctors did not have the answers, she decided to find them herself. This started her journey into learning about what role hygienists play with airway, breathing, myofunctional therapy, and how it relates to our overall health.
Since then, Amy has been passionate about collaboration with other healthcare providers to treat her clients holistically for better health and wellness. When Amy isn’t practicing dental hygiene or myofunctional therapy, you can find her mountain biking, backpacking, or snowboarding with her family. She enjoys a healthy, active lifestyle. She practices what she preaches.
